Great Register
Transcription Project
As part of our Mission Statement, the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society is mandated to preserve and protect both the Historical and Genealogical Resources of our County.
The SLOCGS Genealogical Libraries have Great Register and Voter Registration /Affidavit Books in our Archives. In many cases, these are Original Documents, others are carbon copies or duplicate books, that as far as we have been able to ascertain, are not available in the County Clerk's Office.
A few of The Great Registers are available for sale as Publications.
The History of the California Great Registers
The Transcription Project for the Great Register and Voter Affidavit Volumes located in the SLO Genealogical Library is complete.
A second Voter Registration Project for the volumes located in the Arroyo Grande Genealogical Library has begun. This link will take you to the AG VR Project.
A Single Page Jpeg Scan is available for a $3.00 donation to SLOCGS. Additional Off Site Vital Record and Newspaper research can be accomplished for a donation of $15.00 per hour. If, for instance, there are two John Smith's listed for a particular year, we will help clarify with additional information.
Please contact the SLOCGS Librarian.
I wish to thank all of the Volunteers for an awesome job!
The Search Engine below will search all of the Uploaded Indexes.
